1974–1990s
The Humble Beginnings

The company’s journey began in a modest half-shop lot in Ipoh’s "New Town" (Jalan Laxamana). In its early years, Sun Hing focused on the traditional tools of local commerce: the manual repair and sale of wooden "dacing" scales and mechanical spring scales. For decades, the business served as a critical node for local vendors and traders who relied on these analog instruments for their daily livelihoods.

1997–2011
Formalization and Technological Shift

As global industry shifted toward digital solutions, the company formalized its operations to better compete in a modernizing market. On January 28, 1997, it was registered as Sun Hing Weighing Scales. This era marked a significant technological transition, as the business began moving away from purely mechanical devices to incorporate digital and electronic weighing instruments. This shift allowed the company to expand its reach from small-scale retail into more complex industrial sectors.

December 12, 2012

The company underwent corporate incorporation to become Sun Hing Weighing Scales Sdn. Bhd.. Under the leadership of a second generation of management, the company transformed into a onestop center for weighing technology.

February 14, 2022

The opening of Malaysia’s first weighing scale flagship store in Jalan Pasir Puteh, a collaborative venture with the brand Dynaweight that serves as a hub for sales, showroom exhibition, and professional services.

December 12, 2024

The company celebrated its 50th anniversary, honoring a legacy that spans half a century of technical expertise and resilience.

December 12, 2025

The company opened its third production facility, specially dedicated to the
manufacturing and servicing of weighbridge.
